Wanda M. (Barnett) Coleman was born October 7, 1931, in Oyer, Missouri to Lytle E. and Orpha (Henderson) Barnett. She passed away in Clinton, Missouri May 11, 2023.

Wanda went to church with her parents Lytle and Orpha Barnett at Pleasant Springs Baptist Church and was saved at a young age. She married Jimmie Coleman on June 9, 1950. To this union five children were born Randa, Jo, Craig, Kent, and Brent. The family resided in Roscoe Missouri and Jimmie worked in Osceola, Missouri.

They moved to Clinton, Missouri in 1957 for employment but they always remained close with the community, and their friends and family. In the early 1960’s while attending a revival at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton Jimmie was saved, and shortly after they both became members of the church.

Wanda was employed by Mayfield Lawn & Garden/Pat’s Lawn and Garden & Floral shop for over 30 years.

Wanda had many things she enjoyed such as her children and grandchildren, fruit/vegetable garden, flowers, cooking large family dinners, shopping for new clothes and shoes. However, she always tried to put God and New Hope first if the doors were open 9 out of 10 times Wanda and Jimmie were there.

Wanda is survived by Derl Barnett, Randa and Stuart Cohen, Craig and Lisa Coleman, Kent and Tammy Coleman, Brent and Debbie Coleman, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, some nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents (Lytle and Orpha Barnett), husband, Jimmie L. Coleman, brother, Noel D. Barnett (Ben), daughter, C. Jo Coleman, and one grandchild Eric Skyler Coleman.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Roscoe Cemetery in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
