Cronmiller, Carmen Grace Love December 1, 1932 - August 18, 2013

Carmen Grace Love Cronmiller was born on December 1, 1932 in Strasburg, MO. One of six children born to Parker Whitfield Hart and Hazel Marie Wright Hart. Left this world on August 18, 2013. Grew up in the Iconium, MO area from 1937 until 1964. Lived in Kansas City and Lake Lotawana from 1964 until 2004. Spent many years doing art work, painting and needlepunch, and teaching other people to paint and needlepunch. Enjoyed her years of nursing. Graduated from Penn Valley College in 1971 as a Vocational Nurse and did training at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. Loved gardening and growing flowers. Enjoyed her many friends and neighbors. Married to Charley Opal Love until he passed away in May 1956. Married Henry Everett McMillin in December 1956 until 1964. Married Maurice Eugene Cronmiller in October 1975. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Cronmiller in January 2005. Carmen was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister Betty Opal Hart Eaton, sister Bonnie Marie Hart Holland, and brother Leonard Benson Hart. Survived by two brothers, Vernon Breen Hart and Howard Lee Hart, as well as seven children, Warren Dean Love and wife, Marla, of Osceola, MO, Sheila Denise Love of Osceola, MO, Lyla June Love Boyer and husband, Lynn, of Carl Junction, MO, Lyle Everett McMillin and wife, Jill, of Cole Camp, MO, Cynthia Sue McMillin Davis of Blue Springs, MO, Della Marie McMillin of Independence, MO, and Grace Ellen McMillin Sprague and husband, Floyd, of Kansas City, MO. Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Carmen was baptized in the Iconium Church at the age of 12. Carmen Grace Love Cronmiller was a very colorful woman, inside and out. She was often quiet and soft-spoken, however not without her own firm beliefs and convictions. Carmen worked very hard at various jobs in her life, and had many friends. When she still had her sight, she received great pleasure from calling her friends and family on the phone and visiting with them. She loved to sew and do needlework and Cameo painting. She enjoyed reading and completing word search puzzles. Carmen loved gardening flowers and vegetables. She maintained a large vegetable garden every season and loved canning the produce from her garden. Carmen was very generous with her time and would provide anything she could spare to help all that she befriended in any community that she lived. She received great joy from creating many beautiful sewing, craft, and painting projects to give as gifts to her many family and friends. Carmen was a very individually unique person who loved to make new friends wherever she was, and was always eager to learn all about their lives and to share with them stories of her life. If you close your eyes, and create a picture of Carmen, you will likely see her in a bright colored dress (probably of polyester) with big, bold flowers, and with a giant, floppy sunhat with every color of flowers and lace hot-glued to the top. This was an image of her often seen outside in her garden and at many family events. She had a close, personal relationship with her Lord, and when she knew the end was coming near she told us often she was ready to go “home”. Carmen was a greatly loved sister, mother, grandma, and friend to many and she will be greatly missed.
