Buck was born on January 18, 1945, in Osceola, Mo. to Leonard and Helen Crowder.
Buck worked on the family farm milking cows in Brownington, Mo. Buck also worked for
Arrowhead construction in Warsaw, Mo building highway 65 in the 1970’s. He later ran
the family dairy business, when the family all moved to rural Deepwater, Mo. He
farmed row crops and baled hay too. The family sold their dairy herd, and he then went
to work for another dairy farm until the mid-90’s. When this dairy farm sold their herd,
he then went to work for Cook Tractor until 2017. He baled hay every year for his own
cattle on several acres around the county.
In 1972 Buck married Helen Shockey and to this union two children were born
Christina and Robert (Robbie). They parted ways in 1991. A couple year later Buck
was introduced to Donna Devine. They hit it off from the start. They both sold their
current residences and bought a larger farm to make their own. Buck worked cattle
while Donna worked a huge garden on the farm.
Buck was a kind and generous soul who loved to laugh and play jokes. He would
volunteer his time to help anyone he called friend. He also loved to do a few wood
working projects where he made sure every piece to be PRECISE. He passed his
down time by watching old westerns with his Pepsi and chocolate donuts.
A graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 3, 2024, at The Deepwater
Cemetery. Jerry Kazmaier will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and
celebrate Buck’s life.
