Herbert Daniel Crowder was born December 20, 1954, in Clinton, MO, to Leonard and Helen (Drake) Crowder. He passed away June 4, 2024, in Kansas City, MO.
Herbert worked a family farm for many years. He worked construction, running heavy equipment, once he left that job he went to work at Farmers Elevator in Clinton, MO. He also worked at Wilson Lumber. All while being an avid hunter, fisherman, running his own business custom fence building where he finally retired.
Herbert had many hobbies including: cooking, canning, gardening, mushroom hunting, family get togethers, dancing, fishing, baking delicious cinnamon rolls, and being the best friend to joke around with.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Helen Crowder, four brothers: Gene, Ben, Frankie, and Robert (Buck), four sisters: Opal, Mae, Laverne, and Barbara Ann.
Herbert is survived by his sons: Danny Crowder, Nicholas Crowder and his partner. Shirley Gardner whom he had made a life with. He is also survived by two sisters and one brother: Jewell Bartlet, Connie Hehner and Clifford Crowder. He also had two granddaughters and a grandson, along with a great granddaughter, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

June 12, 2024 at 10:18 pmI am so sorry to hear about Herbert’s passing. We had many good times in junior high. He used to drive over to see me on his Ford tractor. I’ve often wondered if he got in trouble when he got home and not getting his farm work done. I have many special memories of him as I am sure you do also. Hold on to those memories and smile.
