Dill, Betty June October 2, 1931 - September 19, 2017

Betty June Dill was born October 2, 1931 in Brighton, Missouri to Rolla Cameron and Ina Belle (Shaffer) Cameron. She passed away September 19, 2017 in her own home in her own bed in Osceola, Missouri

She was born as Betty June Cameron and spent most of her childhood close to her mother and two older sisters, Martha and Melba, all helping her grow into a fine young woman. After working various jobs including one where she roller-skated to and from inside her workplace. The multi talented shy girl with glasses met the love of her life, William Dill. She worked and traveled from Kansas City to Oklahoma and ended up settling near her Cameron family in Osceola, Missouri where she spent her life and created her family.

Her daily life included raising her 4 children, Bobby, Connie, Billy and Danny and managing a working farm complete with livestock, barns, chickens and an outside shed for canning. Betty was the backbone of the care and love the family received. Betty cooked up a storm for anyone who walked in the door. No one left her house hungry ever. The home she built for her family, friends and grandchildren became the focal point for four generations to gather, eat and play music until the wee morning hours.

In her youth, William and Betty danced until no one else could keep up. She turned and twirled until she had nothing left because Betty was the best dancer. She later remarked when arthritis set in that she may have overdone it.

Betty was humble, selfless, loyal and cautious in all things. She always knew what not to do and avoided “Dullsville” at all cost. Her legacy as a self-taught artist will fill the homes of all the living room galleries of those she left behind. A Betty Dill original is priceless.

In the quiet moments with Betty she reflected on a life well lived and let everyone know she was fulfilled. She gave all her love and advice freely until her last breath. Her unforgettable laugh was a reminder to all of us that we needed to enjoy ourselves and have fun. At the end, Betty was ready to climb the golden steps and meet her true love William once again. The shy girl with glasses, a force of nature in her own right
