Durbin, Helen E September 18, 1920 - February 26, 2013

Helen Elizabeth Troyer Beck Durbin passed away February 26, 2013 at the Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Missouri. Helen was born September 18, 1920 in Garden City, Missouri to Ora Troyer and Rosa Roth. She lived in the state of Oregon until 1927 when her mother died and she returned to Missouri to live with Maude and Pete Roth, her Aunt and Uncle in the Bear Creek area. She attended grade school at Concord County school and graduated from Weaubleau High School. She married Clinton Henry Beck in 1943 and lived in Kansas City working at Hallmark Cards. One daughter, Patricia Deane was born to this union. In 1954 Clinton passed away and Helen moved back to Osceola and started working at the Sac-Osage Hospital where she was employed for 32 years. In 1957 Helen married John Wesley (Dobin) Durbin, who was a custodian at the Osceola Public School all his working life. From this union Helen gained a daughter, Marion Joyce Dobin and Helen retired in 1986 and enjoyed traveling and retirement. Helen is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Gilbert-Tucker of Warsaw, Missouri and Joyce Heims of Redding, California; 7 grandchildren, C.L. Gilbert of Climax Springs, Tony Gilbert of Bolivar, Sherry, Georgia and Clay Gilbert of Osceola, Shannon, Norris, Mike and Bill Heims of Redding, California; sister Verda Thomas of Osceola; brother Dave Troyer of Florida and will be missed by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws and many friends.
