Eaton, Fae A January 11, 1912 - March 11, 2010

Fae Eaton was born to Thomas and Audra (Greenwell) Fox on January 11, 1912 in Independence, Oregon. After a long valiant struggle she departed this life very peacefully at 6:30 pm in the evening of March 11, 2010 attended by a niece and the loving, caring, nurturing staff of Truman Lake Manor at the age of 98 years and two months. She grew up in the Osceola Missouri community where she attended grade school and graduated from the Osceola High School in 1931. As a child she attended church at the Osceola Baptist Church. She was saved at the age of 18 in the altar in the winter of 1929 at a Sunday afternoon revival service. She joined the Church and was baptized. She was a Sunday School teacher many years. Fae had two brothers, Roy Fox and Bill Woolery and three sisters, Maxine Cornwell, Irma Lee Dover, and Mary Margaret Swinney. She taught school seven years in one-room schoolhouses in the Bear Creek, Shady Grove and Kelley School communities in St. Clair County. She attended Southwest Missouri Teacher’s College and Central Missouri Teacher’s college and earned her teaching certification. In the summer of 1938, she went to California to visit her Uncle Park and his wife, Verna Greenwell and stayed. Her mother, brothers and sisters soon followed. California became her home until 1968. She married Ralph Cleveland Wright September 10, 1940. They made their home in Fullerton, California. In 1968 Ralph was badly injured in an accident while at work for Boeing Aircraft. After his long recuperation, they moved to Fowler, Colorado to be near an elderly aunt, Eunice Nelson. In 1974, they moved to Clinton, Missouri to be near Ralph’s mother and family. Ralph preceded her in death in February 1980. She later married John Eaton in 1982 and he preceded her in death in May 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters and one nephew, Stephen Woolery. She is survived by one sister, Maxine Cornwell and seven nieces and nephews. They are: Mike Paget, Candy Dover, Kenneth Geddy, Lynn Elder, Linda Artz, Kathy Clark and Joseph Woolery. Since 2003, she made her home as a resident of Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City. She was devotedly cared for by a group of caretakers who worked tirelessly to see to her comforts and well-being.
