Erwin, Glenda A. September 17, 1940 - April 7, 2023

Glenda Ann Erwin (Sugs) of Lowry City, Missouri was born on September 17, 1940, in Stratton, Colorado to Boyd Dinger and Hazel (Dinger) Kerl. She passed away April 7, 2023.

Growing up, Glenda was blessed with a great older sister who looked out for her and became her best friend. Both enjoyed singing with their mom while she played the piano. After high school, Glenda met and married Donald Levin (Gomer) in 1958 and started a family. They moved to Missouri in 1961 where they settled down to finish raising their three sons and one daughter. On June 27, 1980, she was united in marriage to David Erwin, where she acquired three more sons and lived in Lowry City, Missouri for the remainder of her life.

Over the years Glenda was best known for her love of friends and family where she would host BBQ’s and fish fry’s, adventure out onto the dune buggy tracks, watch the Kansas City Chiefs games while having drinks and playing cards with everyone. You could often find her out on the dance floor cutting a rug or even swinging a dosey doe under her carport at gatherings. She spent over 30 years working at West Central Rural Development Corporation where she was very passionate about her work with helping families get into low-income housing. She retired from there in 2003, looking forward to retirement.

After retirement you could find her out under the carport with friends and family continuing on with traditions. She spent countless hours planting and tending to her prized flower beds and large vegetable garden. She had the most beautiful rose bushes you could see from down the road and could expect to be brought a bucket of extra vegetables from the garden all season long.

In most recent years since the passing of her beloved husband, Glenda spent her weeks enjoying time with her friends grabbing a bite to eat at the Landmark, relaxing with her darling dog Fannie Mae and taking trips to Springfield to watch her great-Grandsons’ football games. She looked forward to the weekends, as her daughter came down and spent them with her going shopping, to the Truman Lake Opera, running errands and watching their game shows or Chiefs football. She was recently so excited to learn of and announce a new great grand child on the way to spoil. All days, especially Sundays, Glenda was devoted to her church community and her faith in the Lord was undeniable.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Boyd and Hazel, sister Marlis Weaver, husband David Erwin, ex-husband and loyal friend Donald Levin, and sons; Lonnie and Lennie Levin.

She leaves behind one daughter, Lisa West of Springfield, MO, and four sons: Ray Jaro and Wife Anna of Lowry City, MO, David Michael Erwin II and wife Kim of Urich, MO, Nick Erwin and wife Lisa of Bulverde, TX, Chris Erwin of Clinton, MO, 10 grandchildren: Josh Levin, Nathan Seifner, Keyshya Seifner, Angie Gonzalez, Amy Erwin, Michael Erwin, Alana Erwin, Emilee Erwin, Ashley Erwin, and Victoria Erwin, 10 great-grandchildren whom some called her “grandma grape” and 1 great-great grandchild.

Glenda will be greatly missed by a countless number of friends and family. Her infectious smile, beautiful soul and time spent giving to others will forever be remembered.
