Vera Fay Estes was born January 24, 1922 to Fred and Lula (Baumgarden) Cauthon near Gerster, Missouri. She passed away December 21, 2020 at Westwood Nursing Home in Clinton, Missouri.

 

Vera was the fourth child out of a family of nine. Because of the times, Vera quit school after the 6th grade to help with the family needs.

 

She married Roy Estes on December 23, 1938, and in the first ten years of marriage they lived on Kings Prairie, then they moved to Kansas City where Roy worked at a tank manufacturing company. Roy retired in 1981 and they moved to Clinton, Missouri. Vera loved going to family re-unions and shopping at Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Clinton Assembly of God as a devoted Christian.

 

Vera lived a year in Texas after Roy’s passing on July 30, 2004 and lived 8 years at Truman Towers in Osceola. After her years in Osceola, she moved to Westwood Nursing Home in Clinton.

 

She was proceeded in death by her husband Roy; three brothers, two sisters; and one grandson, Jeremy Estes.

 

Vera is survived by two sons, Jim and wife Teri, Larry and wife Gabby; 3 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; one brother, Richard Cauthon; two sisters, Juanita Howe and Grace Bauch; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

    Dear Cousin Jimmy and Teri, so very sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful woman. I loved talking with her at the Cauthon Reunions. I will always remember her family members calling her “Bib”. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Bernita
