Cremation

Glenda Jean Evans, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, at the age of 75.

She married the love of her life, Travis James Evans, on November 14, 1968. Together they built a life rooted in love, kindness, generosity and strength. Their home was always open, a refuge for anyone in need of a meal, a place to stay or simply a little kindness. Glenda gave of herself freely, never asking for anything in return.

Glenda had a long and distinguished career at UMB Bank in Kansas City, Missouri, where she retired as Vice President. She was a leader not only in title, but in integrity, dedication, and compassion-traits she carried with her in every part of her life.

She was the proud mother of two daughters, Christina Lynn and Paula Kay, who inherited her warmth, strength and unwavering support. In 1992, Glenda embraced a new role as a grandmother, which brought immense joy. In 2017, she upgraded to a Gigi, a role she wore with pride and delight as her family grew, and her legacy deepened.

Glenda’s life was filled with quiet moments of grace and lasting impact. Her unwavering love and selfless spirit touched countless lives, whether through family, friendship, or the many people she helped along the way.

She is survived by her daughters, Christina Evans (Blake Ellis) and Paula (Tim) Travis; five grandkids, Jorden (Devin) Gagnebin, Joseph (Kyten) Arreola, Dylan Travis, Travis (Kim) Hirt, Kristin Travis (Darion Ransom); eight great grandkids, Gunnar, Charlie, James, Mesa, Elijah, Octavia, Pepper and Quill; brother, William Nelson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis James Evans; her parents, Clyde and InaBelle Nelson; a great grandson, Bentley Spies; a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Butch Hursh; and multiple in-laws, Alice Nelson, Sylvia (Bill) Greathouse, Vera (Freddie) Greathouse, Janice Summers, Sharon Smith, Phyllis (Loren) Cutler, Larry (Arlyss) Evans, Jerry Wayne Evans, Gary Evans, and Terry Evans.

Her daughters ask that you join them for a dinner following services at Evans Farms, please bring a side dish and a chair.
