Nancy Lou Floyd, 70, passed away peacefully in El Dorado Springs, Missouri on November 19, 2011. She was born May 20, 1941 to Roy and Marjory Browning of Norborne. She attended Norborne schools and after her parents both passed away when she was a young age, she went to live with her sister, Helen, in Independence. She granduated from William Chrisman High School.
Nancy was a devoted housewife and in later years enjoyed working at Shirkey Leisure Acres in Richmond, Missouri and Community Springs Healthcare Facility, El Dorado Springs, Missouri in the dietary department. She had a special place in her heart for babies, animals and the elderly. She loved the color red, couldn’t pass up a bargain, and collected angels. In her last years, she called Community Springs her home and was especially fond of her caretakers and bingo opportunities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Norborne, Missouri.
She is survived by her children and their spouses – Cindy and Jeffrey Black, Crane, Missouri and James and Stefanie Floyd, Warrensburg, Missouri. She leaves behind four grandchildren o- Carissa Czarnecki and William Black, Crane, Missouri; and Justin and Julian Floyd, Warrensburg, Missouri to cherish her memory. Surviving siblings include John R. Browning, Los Angeles, California; William A. Browning, El Dorado Springs, Missouri; Helen Waters, Independence, Missouri; Myrtle Clark, Independence, Missouri and Jean Burge, Dallas, Texas. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Marjory Browning, her infant daughter jShelly Lynette, her sister Jo Hubbard, of California, brother Gail Browning, El Dorado Springs, Missouri and her beloved niece, Trish Scarbo, of Independence.
Nancy was a wonderful cook and a protective, loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
