Sarah Dora Olwen Floyd was born April 24, 1919 in Doyle township St. Clair County, Missouri. Sarah went to her home in Heaven September 24, 2021, residing at Foxwood Springs in Raymore, Missouri.
Sarah graduated from Osceola High School in 1937. She married Steele Thomas Floyd in Kansas City on January 3, 1947. This union was blessed with five children: Theodore (Ted), Thomas (Tom), Linda, Sarah, and Jerry.
Steele and Sarah lived in Osceola, Missouri when they were first married and moved in 1957 to 3410 Thompson in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1984 they moved to 7601 Appleton, Raytown, Missouri. Sarah then moved to Foxwood Springs in 2009 and resided there until going to her home in Heaven.
Sarah was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her helpful hands and loving, caring ways will be missed by all. She was a wonderful homemaker, enjoyed baking, and cooking for her family and most importantly, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid mushroom hunter and gardener and enjoyed fishing with Steele.
Sarah was preceded in death by Steele Thomas Floyd her husband of almost 55 years. Her siblings: Florence, Martha, Irene, Simon, William, and Jennieve. A great granddaughter Ellena Madalyn McGill (Ellie.)
Sarah is survived by her children: Theodore Floyd and wife Judy of Bethany, Missouri, Thomas Floyd and wife Lois of Raymore, Missouri, Linda Staudenmaier and husband Steve of Prairie Village, Kansas, Sarah McGinnis and husband Timothy of Harrisonville, Missouri and Jerry Floyd of Theodosia, Missouri and 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
