Melva graduated from Gainesville, Mo in 1949, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Nolen B. Morrison.  Melva grew up in Ozark County, Mo living a simple life in Elijah, Mo where her parents owned a store and ran the Post Office. Some of her favorite memories were from growing up with her sisters Vernetta (Willhoit) & Betty (Amyx) in Elijah.

As a young girl Melva played the guitar & sang on the West Plains Radio Station KWPM with her sister Vernetta in 1946 where they met & sang with Porter Wagner.

After a new job opportunity was offered to Nolen the family moved to St. Joseph, Mo in 1967 where Melva eventually became a very successful Realtor, even serving as President of St. Joseph Board of Realtors & serving on several state committees & won several awards for her work.  Melva moved back to Springfield, Mo in 1984 after Nolen’s death where she enjoyed playing golf & spending time with her children & grandchildren. She met Jerry Fogle Jr. & they married in March of 1990 & she moved to Jerry’s hometown, Aurora, Mo.  Jerry preceded her in death in 2011. Melva moved back to Springfield & was a member of East Grand Church of Christ at her death. She accepted Jesus at an early age & was baptized in a creek behind Elijah Church of Christ.

Melva was preceded in death by her two husbands, her daughter Michele Slone, sisters Vernetta & Betty, brother-in-law & sister-in-law Rex & Nadine Ebrite & brother-in-law Gary Morrison.

    Danny and Brad,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your Mom. Because we lived next door to you, Melva was the first person that I knew that was so stunning in her beauty and elegance. Even around the house she was always “perfect”. I soon found out that there was much more to her than just a pretty face. She always welcomed us Pace kids-we felt her love and kindness. When your Dad died, she showed such strength of character. I will always have the best memories of being the next door neighbors of the Morrison family.
    Love,
    Vicki Pace Wilson
