Raymond Lee Frost came into this world January 13, 1939 to his happy parents, Frank and Helen Powell Frost. He left this world August 9, 2020 from his favorite recliner in his earthly home for his eternal home with his family by his side.
He was born in Kellerton, Iowa. His sister, Phyllis Wagner, was born one year later. They attended and graduated from Lowry City Public School. After high school, Raymond enlisted in the Navy. He served our country in the reserves and in active duty from 1956 to 1962. He worked for Mid-Continent Tab Co, later called Data Documents in Kansas City. He then moved with the company to Houston, Texas for a time. After moving back to Lowry City, he worked for Farm Bureau for 14 years. He also visited many homes by selling and installing carpet for 30 years.
Raymond met Janie and on September 25,1998, they were married. For 22 years, Janie says that Raymond has been her ‘Rock’. They made their home in the Lowry City area and have worked together on the farm and in their store at Osceola. They both have enjoyed times together raising chickens, ducks, miniature horses, miniature donkeys, buffalo, llamas, miniature goats, cows, and growing a pretty peony garden.
Raymond was a quiet, unassuming gentleman. He was trustworthy, honest, and kind. He never enjoyed being the center of attention, even on his surprise 80th birthday celebration.
He recently made the best decision of his life by committing his heart to Christ.
Raymond and Janie together have five children: Brian Lee Frost and wife, Renee: Randy Ray Frost: Deborah Elrod and spouse, Randall: Stephanie Shannon and spouse, David: and Chad Reasoner. Their grandchildren: Shawna and spouse, Scott: Stacy and spouse, Jacob: Katilyn and spouse, Barry: David jr, and spouse, Katie: Danyelle, Darcy and spouse, Matt: Cassie, Brett, and Jordon. They also have 9 great-grandchildren with 2 more soon to be born.
Their grandchildren love to come to the farm. They enjoy riding the 4 wheelers and playing with the animals. Many memories have been made there of family times together.
