Janet Elizabeth (Cone) Garrison was born August 5, 1941 near Chalk Level, Missouri to Roy and Ada Cone. She passed away at Truman Lake Manor Nursing Home in Lowry City, Missouri on February 5, 2023.

 

Janet grew up in between St. Clair and Bates county in her early years,  but graduated from Osceola High School in 1958. She was united in married to Kenneth Clark Garrison on July 4, 1959.  To this union 3 sons were born, Leonard Wayne in 1960, Keith Daniel in 1963, and Patrick Cone in 1974. Janet was a homemaker and sometimes worked outside the home selling Avon, ironing clothes, teacher’s aide and substitute cook at the school. Janet and Kenneth were married 62 years. They lived in Richmond, Missouri when raising their boys and moved back to the Ozark area after Kenneth retired.

 

Janet enjoyed sewing, and singing with friends and family. Janet was an amazing cook. She made a wonderful bread, which Keith’s family referred to it as Grandma Janet’s World Famous Bread. Also, friends and family looked forward to her peanut brittle at Christmas. Janet loved babies, flowers, and cats. Janet enjoyed watching The Waltons. While living in Richmond, she was an active member of the Church of God and then a member of the Bear Creek Church after moving back home.

 

Janet is survived by her husband Kenneth Garrison, three children: Wayne (Cathleen) Garrison, Keith (Linda) Garrison, and Patrick Garrison. Grandchildren: Amanda (Chris) Garrison-Camus, Rick Garrison, Rhiannon (DJ) Schmidt and Heather (Donnie) Pangborn. Great-Grandchildren: Atticus St. John, Jadyn Schmidt, Aaliyah Schmidt, Ellison Pangborn, and Emery Pangborn. Sisters: Evelyn Jennings, and Esther (Ben) Throne, and a brother-in-law Lorenz Endress as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Ada Cone, Brother Bernard Cone, Sisters: Kathleen Cone, Lela May Endress, brother-in-law Ralph Jennings, and sister-in-law Bernita Cone.

 

 

 

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bear Creek Church in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
