German, James Andrew March 25, 1922 - July 8, 2014

James Andrew German, Jr. was born March 25, 1922 in Meadville, MO to James Andrew and Esther (Brinkman) German. He passed away July 8, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. James graduated from Meadville High School in 1940. After graduation he worked in Meadville and Chillicothe as a grocery clerk prior to enlisting in the Signal Corp. on Nov. 24,1942. He was later transferred to the Air Force assigned to the 98th bomb corp. in Italy. James was honorably discharged on Oct. 8, 1945. James began his career with the Missouri Department of Conservation on Oct. 20, 1945. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Summers on Oct. 5, 1947. To this union two sons were born; Ricky Joe and James M. German. James was a member of Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was the Master on two different occasions. He was also a member of the El Dorado Springs Methodist Church and served as financial secretary, treasurer, board of trustees, and other committees on several occasions. Preceding him in death were his parents, James Sr. And Esther German, two sisters Edith Joyce Hinton and Mildred Warner and wife Phyllis. He is survived by his two sons James M. and Ricky Joe, grand-daughter Nichole and husband Greg Lanhoff, grand-daughter Requitta and husband Randy, grand-daughter Kelli German. He is also survived by 7 great grand children. He is also survived by one brother Bob German and wife Donna. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and everyone will cherish their memories of James.
