Glen “Gordon” Hadsall was born on March 3, 1946 to Glen and Helen (Turner) Hadsall in Nora Springs, Iowa.  He passed away peacefully March 20, 2023 at his home in Clinton, MO surrounded by his family.

Gordon attended Chalk Level and Lowry City High School.  On July 3, 1970, Gordon married Dolores Bocelewatz.  They were married for 52 years and raised two sons in Kansas City, MO, Joseph and Russell.   Gordon worked at Armco Steel and Wire CO for 35 years.  In 2013 he and his wife moved to Clinton, MO because he always wanted to be closer to his brothers and sisters.

Gordon was a very patriotic person, always commenting on the importance of buying American made.  He was endlessly proud to talk about his son Joe being in law enforcement and his other son Russell being a Marine.  He also talked proudly of his nephews that served this country.  He was a dedicated friend, son, brother, father, and grandfather.  He would drop everything to lend a helping hand to friends or family that needed it and especially loved doting on his grandchildren.

Gordon enjoyed living a simple life.  He wanted nothing to do with technology, never found the need to have a computer and only watched a few channels on TV.  He enjoyed The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and his western movies.  You could always find him sitting in the garage listening to the oldies or a baseball game on the radio and swatting flies.  When the grandkids were young, he enjoyed playing Buzz-Buzz with them (chasing them around with the fly swatter).  The grandkids thought it was funny and would like to swat Papa too.  Gordon believed anything broken could be fixed with duct tape…and it was!

He loved being outdoors:  hunting, fishing, or just watching the humming or blue birds.  In the Spring he really looked forward to mushroom hunting.  In the Fall he looked forward to the annual deer hunting trip with his good friend Tom Moss, his son, Russell, and grandson, Jake.  In the Summer he tended to his garden and liked taking tomatoes and cucumbers around to the neighbors.  When the boys were young he would spend time outside taking them to baseball or football, never missing an event; many times prior to him working all night.

Gordon loved spending time with his family by going to the annual reunions and other family celebrations.  He also enjoyed taking long drives across the country seeing different sites and seeing family. In retirement he took a part time job with local car dealership Raysik, picking up and dropping off vehicles often across different states.

Gordon will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Glen and Helen (Turner) Hadsall, brothers Gary and Larry Hadsall.

He is survived by his wife Dolores Hadsall, son Joseph Hadsall (Lisa) of Phoenix, AZ; Russell (Hollie) Hadsall of Kansas City, MO; brother Omer Hadsall (Judy) of Osceola, sisters Gloria Wears (Harold) of Lowry City, Gladys Settle of Stockton, Charlotte Becker of Odessa, Donna Brock of Clinton, Frances Keyes (Greg) of Osceola and Collen Vaughn of Clinton.  He also survived by grandchildren Brittany Socia (Brad) of Monroe NC, Sophia Hadsall, Max Hadsall, Sydney Hadsall, Jake Hadsall, Sergio Hadsall and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to KU Cancer Care or American Cancer Society on his behalf.
