Jackie Len “Lennie” Hamilton was born April 27, 1945, the ninth child and eighth son of fourteen children to Edward Lester and Antonia H. (Cruzan) Hamilton.
Lennie grew up on the family farm north of Caplinger Mills, MO. until the family moved to El Dorado Springs in 1962. Lennie attended and graduated from the El Dorado Springs school. After school, Lennie was drafted into the Army and served in Germany and Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. He was honorably discharged August 8, 1967 at Ft. Lewis, Washington.
Lennie worked in sheet metal fabrication before returning home where he suffered a disabling accident while working at the City of El Dorado Springs in 1974. Before that, Lennie loved to play cards, fish, and was an exceptional pool and snooker player. His main interest has always been baseball and he could talk about that all day long.
He especially favored the St. Louis Cardinals while his sister Marjorie, favored the Royals, so he didn’t say too much to her after the World Series this year.
He was also a life member of the VFW Post #257. He especially enjoyed coffee at Allison’s Convenience Store and visiting with his buddies. Lennie gave his life to Christ on December 27, 2015 at Medical Lodge in Nevada, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leck and Antonia; brothers, Charles, Don Lee and Kenneth; and one sister, Kathryn Stone.
Lennie is survived by his brothers Edward and his wife Barbara, Byron and his wife Peggy, Paul and his wife Mary, Phillip and his wife Jeanette, and Sam; sisters, Hazel and husband Don Lesmiester, Marjorie Hamilton, Alice and husband Ron Fuller, and Mary Johnson; as well as many nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends.
