Serritta Mae Higgins was born February 8, 1927 in Streator, Illinois to Arthur L. and Anna M. (Morris) Eirhart. She passed away July 19, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was united in Marriage to Gilbert H. Higgins in 1945. Their marriage was blessed with 7 children. She remarried in 1986 to Charles H. Higgins at which she welcomed 5 additional children to her life.
Serritta was preceded in death by husband Charles H. Higgins; sons David M. Higgins, Michael B. Higgins; daughters Sheila A. Higgins, Rose M. Higgins, her parents, 9 brothers and 1 sister.
She is survived by 7 sons, Ronald G. Higgins and wife Joan of Missouri, Diane (James) Higgins, wife of the late David Higgins, of Arizona, Steven J. Higgins and wife Patricia of Wyoming, Fredrick (Rick) D. Higgins and wife Betty of Kansas, James A. Higgins and wife Shirley of Missouri, William V. Higgins and wife Lois of Wyoming, John C. Higgins and wife Evelyn of Louisiana, Donald E. Higgins and wife Sue of Pennsylvania; 2 daughters Cathy J. Lind and husband Shaun of Missouri and Louann Weathers and husband Matt of Missouri; 35 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, 20 great great-grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.
