Robert Lee Hill Jr. was born in Kansas City, MO on September 9, 1953 to Robert Lee and Norma Isabell (Beavers) Hill. He passed away on November 24, 2017 due to complications after surgery in Kansas City, MO.
Bob grew up in Clarksville, MO before entering the Marine Corps in 1970. He proudly served with the 3rd Platoon Delta Co. 3rd Recon Battalion and fought in Vietnam. He and his family later moved to Lowry City, MO in 1989 where he has numerous relatives in the area.
Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, searching for arrowheads and just simply exploring and enjoying the great outdoors. His hobbies included building bird houses, forging knives and making diddley bows. He was a talented singer and self-taught guitar player although he never needed to read music. He could also play the bass guitar, mandolin and banjo and spent much of his time singing, playing and entertaining family and friends.
He is survived by and married to Pauline (Gina) M. Hill of Lowry City, MO. Children include Mark A. Lewandowski currently in Afghanistan, Tanya J. Lewandowski of Lowry City, MO, Chrystal V. Ketterman of Osceola, MO, and Robert Lee Hill III, deceased. He has numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Other surviving family members include sister Connie S. Hill, brother-in-law Kim B. Hill of Camdenton, MO, and sisters Theresa Luckett of Arizona and Christine Ralph of Holden, MO.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hill Sr. of Clarksville, MO, mother and step-father Norma I. and Robert L. Lurz of Flemmington, MO, and sister Deloris J. Cynowa of Bland, VA.
Bob not only gave his service and sacrifice to his country, but gave the ultimate gift of life through organ donation. Five people now have a brand new life due to his generosity and heroism. He will continue to live on and definitely not be forgotten.
