Wanda Hiller was born June 1, 1939 to A.W. and Bernice Jackson in Hobart, Oklahoma. She passed away June 26, 2017 in Clinton, Missouri.
She was the 2nd born sibling and first born girl which is why she took on many duties and responsibilities helping to care for her other siblings. This lead to a lifetime of hard headed and stubbornness that made her who she was.
Wanda met Fred Hiller and the two were united in marriage on April 4th, 1959 and they spent the best part of over 54 years together until she lost Fred in October of 2014. To this union, they had three beautiful daughters, Sherie, Zona and Tammy.
Wanda age 78 (29 and holding) lived at Truman Lake and in the early morning on June 26, 2017, She left her family and friends to go home to be with her loved ones that passed before her
Fred and Wanda always enjoyed camping, fishing and deer hunting. While raising their family they spent vacations traveling around the United States camping and enjoying the outdoors. That is why when they retired they moved to the lake to spend the rest of their lives surrounded by the nature they both loved. Wanda enjoyed sitting outside with Fred in the early mornings watching the deer come up close to the porch grazing on the grass or the squirrels that would grab up a pancake and try to drag it up a tree or the hummingbirds that would visit the many feeders that Wanda would fill and hang day after day even when the raccoons would come and empty them each night. She liked having family and friends around and never got tired of spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids along with the good times spent with family playing cards or dominos.
She was independent and hardworking preferring to do it herself whenever she could. Her daughters recall hours of shucking corn and sweating while canning the many jars of home grown vegetables each summer. There were also all the repairs she would do at the lake, climbing up on the roof of the house or dragging bags of concrete out to make a patch in the driveway. She never let age slow her down.
Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Fred Hiller; parents, A.W. and Bernice Jackson; brother, Ray Jackson; sisters, Linda Jackson, Neoma Abrams, Beverly Miller; infant grandson, Michael Winegar and infrant great-granddaughter, Vanessa Maldonado.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sherie and husband Rusty Baker of Nevada, Mo., Zona Hiller of Lowry City, Mo. and Tammy Dwyer of Independence, Mo., Ester Tigner-Queen of Independence, Mo.; 11 grandkids; Danny Beemer, Ryan Beemer, Jessica Baker, Dakota Baker, Robert Winegar, Zona (sis) Millan, Wayne Winegar, Brandon Twyman, Mary Bialek, Dillon Twyman and Dallas Twyman; 11 great grandkids, numerous nieces, nephews as well as many extended family and friends.
