Elmer Dave Hopkins, age 86, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away on October 11, 2016 at Community Springs Healthcare. Elmer was born September 2, 1930 as the only child to William and Iva Williams Hopkins in Farlington, KS.
On December 25, 1954 he was united in marriage to Lorene Maberry. To this union two children were born, Nancy Lynn and Eddie Dean. Elmer was employed by the Highway Department for 35 years and retired in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene; his mother, Iva; his father, William, his stepmother, Lindy; his sister-in-laws Ruthie Rains, Lucy Cooper, Allyne Dwyer; and his brother-in-law Richard Dwyer. Elmer is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ron Brown of El Dorado Springs; his son, Eddie of Lafayette, Louisiana; four grandchildren, Heather and husband Craig Thorell, Brett and wife Rachael Brown, Brian Moeller, Ethan Hopkins, and Kala and husband Tyler Kenney; three great-granddaughters, Kylie Ann Moeller, Crayton Lynn Thorell, and Raeleigh Belle Brown; special friend, Phyllis Eagleton; brother and sister-in-laws, Glen Maberry, Jim Rains, Arky Cooper, Toni Messick, and Connie Maberry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
