Houston, Carol Lea October 18, 1942 - September 23, 2010

Carol Lea Houston was born October 18, 1942 in Independence, Missouri to Edgar and Esther Pauline (Sherman) Smith. She passed away September 23, 2010 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Kansas City, MO. Carol was united in marriage to Billy J. Houston in February 1985 and they moved to Osceola in 1990. Carol retired from the St. Clair county jail as the kitchen sergeant on August 30, 2010 after 10 years of service. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Pauline Smith, one daughter, Vicky Sue Miller. She is survived by her husband, Billy J. Houston, three daughters, Kathy Carney and husband David, Osceola, MO; Debra Schlesener, Clinton, MO; Teresa Miller and husband Randy, Harrisonville, MO; one son, Rick Houston and wife Pam, Lee’s Summit, MO and one brother David Smith and wife Bette, Kansas City, MO. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Carol enjoyed spending time with the love of her life, Billy J. Houston and her kids and grandkids. She had many talents, but her favorites were riding her motorcycle, painting and woodworking.
