Rae Lynne Irwin, 64, formally of Waterloo, passed away Wednesday, August 27 at the Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, MO of sudden heart complications.
She was born November 21, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Thomas Findley and Wanda (Hoffman) Johnson. She married Michael B. Irwin on May 26, 1984 in Waterloo.
Mrs. Irwin was a hairdresser for 34 years, owner of the Head Shed beauty salon. She retired to Osceola, MO where she spent her time painting and enjoying her time with family and friends. Rae was a 2014 Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi Master of Arts in Sociology graduate from the University of Central Missouri.
Rae is preceded in death by her step father, Sigvald Johnson; mother Wanda Johnson; sisters Christie “Kitty” Koch and Shelley Fryman.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Irwin, of Osceola, MO; 1 son, Chad Mosley of Cedar Rapids; 1 daughter, Technical Sergeant Emily Irwin-Green (Kenneth “Wade” Green) of Minot, ND; 2 step daughters, Lori (Chad) Albright and Jennifer (Brent) Pettigrew, both of Cedar Rapids; 1 brother, Thomas Findley Jr. of Iowa City; 2 sisters Rhonda Doyle of Elmhurst, IL and Jan Bradley of Sedalia, MO along with 5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons and granddog, Pork Chop (Chopper).
