Jamison, Rolland Douglas May 9, 1942 - January 18, 2021

On January 18, 2021 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri Rolland Douglas (Doug) Jamison went to be with the Lord.  He was born May 9, 1942 to Jay and Leona (Bourland) Jamison.

Doug gave his life to Jesus in his early 30’s.  He lived what he preached.  He was a very conscientious and giving man.  His cerebral palsy didn’t hinder him from working hard.  Work was his hobby.  He didn’t work to become wealthy, he worked because he loved to work and loved helping others.

He was quite a story teller and had a memory that wouldn’t quit.  He might tell you the same stories every time you saw him, but it wasn’t because he had forgotten that he told you, it was just that he loved telling those stories.  Some of his stories were so funny he would almost have you in tears.  If you were to take the time to really know Doug, he was lots of fun.  He loved his family very much and brassed on them every chance he got.  Mosgt of all he loved the Lord and witnessed to everyone he met.  He asked on several occasions, “Why is God keeping me here?”  We think it’s because he witnessed to so many people.  If not for Doug many people would have never heard about Jesus.  He was never ashamed of his faith.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Rolland and Leona Jamison; and sister, Leah (Jamison) Conard.

He is survived by brothers, Mike Jamison and wife Linda of El Dorado Springs, Missouri and Phillip Jamison and wife Shirley of Fort Scott, Kansas; foster brother, who he considered a blood brother, David Cox and wife Trish; sister, Shery (Jamison) Forbes of Mexico, Missouri.

Doug, we miss you, but know that someday soon e will see you again!  I know you said many times that all you wanted when you got to heaven was 40 acres, a 2 room cabin and a 54 Ford 3/4 ton with fold down racks.  I can’t help but think God has given you what you wanted and you are now hard at work on your 40 acres.  See you soon!
