Kiess, George Vernon December 17, 1914 - February 29, 2012

George Vernon Kiess was born in Sterling, Oklahoma on December 17, 1914 and died on February 29, 2012 in Clinton, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha (Bell), four brothers, his wife Joeva (Eddleman), son Terry and two granddaughters.

He is survived by his son Bobby (Leilani) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and daughter Linda Rae Gigliotti of Independence, Missouri, grandchildren , Colleen, Michael, Shawnda, Wendy, Rob and Anthony, many great grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren.

Vernon graduated from Houston High School in Houston, Missouri.

He enlisted in the US Army in 1943 and was Honorably Discharged in 1945 with the rank of Sergeant.

Vernon moved to Colorado in 1938, where he met and married Joeva.

He worked for the Pig Parlor Diner, had a milk route for Gold Band Milk Dairy and was a maintenance/machine operator at Timken Roller Bearing , Rock Bit Division. He retired in 1972 and moved to Lowry City. He mowed many lawns around town and his constant companion, Buddy, followed. Vernon was a resident at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri at time of death.
