Landis, Eva F. June 22, 1921 - December 29, 2010

Eva Fern Landis, 89, of Lowry City, Missouri was born June 22, 1921 to Andrew Reuben and Emma Mae (Gramm) Moffett in Iconium, Missouri. She passed away on December 29, 2010 at Truman Lake Manor Nursing Home in Lowry City, Missouri. At the time of her death Eva was attended to by her granddaughter, Eva McGowen, RN.

During World War II Eva worked for a short time riveting the wings on bombers.

She loved to travel and see new things. She had been many places including Russia and in 1985 making it to the Holy Land, which was a lifelong dream of hers. While visiting the Truman Library, Eva was the one millionth visitor and received a personal tour and a picture from President Harry S. Truman. Eva had a great love for music, especially old time gospel.

Eva was well known for being an excellent pie maker. She loved all card games and could play solitaire by the hour. She really enjoyed making quilts and was elected as Truman Lake Manor Resident of the Month twice.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Hancock, Oscar Pace and Glenn Landis; 3 sisters, Oma Lewis, Ruth Price and Reba Moffett and one grandson, Charles Hancock.

Eva is survived by one son, John Thomas Hancock; one daughter, LaDema Joy Tiggemann; 2 grandsons, Lee Thomas Wyatt Jr. and John Hancock Jr.; 2 granddaughters, Eva Leeann McGowen and Angela Davis; 3 brothers, Jim Moffett, Andy Moffett and Robert Moffet; 1 sister, Ruby Rainsbarger along with many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and friends
