Lewis, Larry B. April 27, 1932 - December 18, 2023

On December 18, 2023, at the age of 91, Lawrence B. “Larry” Lewis left this world peacefully at
home with his wife by his side.

Larry was born in Osceola, Missouri to Bernard R. and Myrtle G. Lewis. He was delivered by Dr.
Ruth Seevers. He grew up in Osceola and New London, Connecticut, graduating from Osceola
High School in 1950.

He went on to study at the University of Missouri, Stanford, Paris (France), and received his
master’s in divinity from Bexley Hall in Rochester, New York. Larry was a lifelong learner, avid
ecologist, author, pastor, mentor, teacher and friend. He taught in St. Louis and Lakeland
schools and served the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri as a priest for many years including
Boonville, Clinton, Maryville, Warrensburg, Sedalia, Springfield, Bolivar and Cliff Springs Camp.

Larry is survived by Ruth, his wife of 59 years; his children Bruce (Jessica) Lewis, Fredrick Lewis,
and Ellen (Doug) Jeffery; his grandchildren Margot (Conor) Banks, Julia, and Claire Lewis,
Isadora Lewis, Ryan (Nicole), Sam and Carter (Peyton) Jeffery, and great-granddaughter Anna
Jeffery.

According to his specific wishes, Larry received a green burial, which required interment within
one day of his death. Memorial services will be held in Osceola and St. Louis.

Rest eternal grant to him O Lord; and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the
souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in Peace. Amen.
