Roy B. Loftin was born April 15, 1927 in Vista, MO to James W. and Della (Meloy) Loftin. He passed away September 28, 2015 at Belton Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. His early life was spent in the Vista, MO area. Roy graduated from Osceola High School in 1945. After graduation and at the age of seventeen Roy joined the United States Navy and served in the latter part of WWII.
On June 16, 1946 he was united in marriage to Willideen Crotts in Springfield, MO. The union was blessed with two sons, Roy James and Don Wayne.
Roy and Willideen spent most of their married life in the Grandview, MO area and Roy’s career started as a cabinetmaker and included 40 years as superintendant of Trusty Construction and McCue and McGuire Builders.
He was a devout Christian. Roy was a deacon of the First Baptist Church of Grandview and a Sunday School teacher.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Willideen in 1995 and was also preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Josephine Lawler and three brothers in-law, Junior Lewis, John Harryman and Harold Gotobed.
Roy was a great sports fan and especially the Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs. He loved to hunt and fish.
He is survived by two sons Roy James and wife Phyllis, Los Cruces, NM and Don and wife, Debbie, Raymore, MO, one brother Jimmy Loftin and three sisters, Mary Gotobed, Eleanor Harryman and Faye Lewis, four grandsons, 9 great grandchildren; a very special companion Ramona Moore and her children, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
