Barbara Kay Martin was born on November 5, 1945 in Fort Scott, Kansas to Alviouse and Bette Jean (Jones) Schoenberger. She was affectionately know to all as “Miss Kay” She passed away on February 1, 2020 near Roscoe, Missouri.
She married Gary Jackman on November 23, 1963. After they divorced, she married Herald Martin on October 11, 1974. She worked at the Driftwood Club in Kansas City, Kansas for 12 years and Buzz’s Suzy Q for 13. She was a resident of Roscoe, Missouri for 35 years and was a member of the Roscoe City Council as well as the VFW Post 4197.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Herald Lee Martin, her parents Bette (Sugar) and Al Schoenberger, stepson JR Martin, daughter-in-law Tina Bell Jackman and granddaughters Jenny Bell and Katie Jo Cutting.
She is survived by her children, Anita Fox and husband Jim, Robert Jackman and wife Sherry, Deanna Cutting and husband Todd and David Jackman and wife Tracy, step children Jeff Martin and wife Cynthia, Debbie Jones and Eric Martin, brothers Tim Hendrix, Terry Schoenberger and wife Ginger, Ted Schoenberger and wife Diane, and Toby Schoenberger and wife Candy as well as 18 grand children and nine great grand children.
Her family would like to thank Christy Geiger, George Bruce and Jesse Gainey as well as the nurses for Compasus especially Kim and Debbie for all of their love, care and support.
