Mattingly, Virginia E. November 7, 1934 - January 6, 2012

Virginia Mattingly of ElDorado Springs, MO after a long illness went to sing for the Lord January 6, 2012. She was born November 7, 1934 at Duncan, Oklahoma. She graduated from Norman, Oklahoma High School and married Harold Mattingly in Norman, Oklahoma in 1956. Virginia loved her family, art, music, and traveling. She worked as a secretary, insurance clerk, teacher’s aide, and taught tole painting. She sang with the University of Oklahoma Summer Choir the summer after high school, Church choirs, and other groups throughout the years. She had a great love for gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her father Esias Byington, mother Armentia Byington, and sister Vera Northcutt. She is survived by her husband Harold, a daughter, Melinda Sherman and husband Gary of Wheatland, Missouri, son Brett Mattingly of Ozark, Missouri, grand children Aaron Mattingly of Denver, Colorado, Eric Mattingly of Springfield, Missouri, and Ashley Sherman of Wheatland, Missouri, brother David Byington and wife Stacie of Oklahoma City, plus two sister-in-laws, nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
