Eva Yavonne Ridgway was born April 12, 1953 in Appleton City, MO. , to Elza and Shirley “Masten” Ridgway. She passed away from this life December l7th, 2014 at her home surrounded by family. She grew up on the family farm just outside of town with her parents and siblings, Mary and Randy. She graduated from the El Dorado Springs R-2 School in 1971 where she excelled in bookkeeping and home living classes. On August 6, 1971 she married her high school sweetheart, Carl Mooney.
To this union four children were born, Valerie YaVon, Stephanie Louise, Jacob Carl and Jonathon Randall. Eva worked at Woods Supermarket for 7 years and then the El Dorado Springs Pizza Hut for several years. In later years, she worked at Summer Fresh Supermarket all the years they were in El Dorado Springs and again at Woods Supermarket this past year. Carl and Eva were owners of Flannigan’s for many years where she kept the books. Eva was raised to believe that when you were hired at a job, that you gave that employer 100% while you were there. It was very evident to anyone who seen her at work that she took this to heart. Her family has been told by many people that if they couldn’t find what they were looking for, they just went to look for Eva.
Eva enjoyed staying home and raising her children. She taught each one of them to live their lives to the fullest with what God has given them and she loved to sing old songs to them that her mom taught her as a child. Eva was so proud to have a son and daughter in the military. She proudly wore her t-shirts, pins and necklaces to show everyone. She just found out that she was going to be a grandma again and she told everyone who came to see her.
Eva attended the First Christian Church where she was in charge of the nursery each Sunday. She enjoyed going with her dad each week.
Preceding Eva in death were her mother, Shirley Ridgway, her in-laws Ernest & Fern Mooney and her grandparents, Ernest & LaVon Masten and Arthur & Evelena Ridgway. She is survived by her husband of 43 years Carl of the home; her father Elza Ridgway of El Dorado Springs; two daughters, Valerie McBride and husband Chris of PA, and Stephanie Miller and husband Josh of El Dorado Springs; two sons Jacob Mooney and wife Brandy and Jonathon Mooney and wife Robin all of El Dorado Springs, her sister Mary Cain and husband Clinton and brother Randy Ridgway and wife Suzy all of El Dorado Springs. 7 grandchildren, Gage, Brittney, Floyd, Cassie, Gavin, Caleb & Lizzie, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews and many, many friends.
