Judy Ann Morton was born September 3, 1946 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Galen and Carol Schmidt Jones. She passed away on August 8, 2012 at Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola, Missouri.
Her father passed away at age 6 and her mother remarried Woodrow Lambelet, who adopted Judy. She was baptized when she was 13 years old and rededicated her life to Christ and was immersion baptized in Truman Lake as an adult.
Judy was united in marriage to Wayne Louis Morton on April 13, 1968 and to this union 3 children were born, Barbara, Joseph and Debbie.
She was an elementary school teacher receiving her teaching degree from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska and taught for 4 years in Ralston, Nebraska. She also taught for 1 year in Hayesville, Kansas and 19 years in Osceola, Missouri. She served for 12 years on the Osceola School Board.
Judy taught Bible School, Children’s Church and Ladies Sunday School class. Judy was also a prayer warrior, involved in the card ministry and a member of the Osceola Dirt Dobbers Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father.
Judy is survived by her husband, Wayne L. Morton, of the home; 2 daughters, Barbara Garlick of Osceola, Missouri and Debbie MortonPeaslee and husband Mike of Westwood, Kansas; 1 son Joseph Morton and wife Kenzie of Leawood, Kansas; 5 granddaughters, Imani, Olivia, Elizabeth, Mary Margaret and Madeline of Osceola, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Jackson and Charlie Morton of Leawood, Kansas; 2 brothers, Fred Lambelet and wife Tami of Grand Island, Nebraska and Tom Lambelet and wife Lori of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Del and Elaine Bohlmeyer of Oregon; 4 nieces and 3 nephews along with many friends.
