John Jimmy Murray was born November 8, 1935, in Iconium, Missouri, to Roy and Eleanor (Garrison) Murray and passed away October 12, 2022 at home.  Jim attended grade school at Iconium and high school at Osceola, graduating in May 1953.  He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Iconium.

Jim married Audrey Baumgarden on September 1, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri and to this union two children were born: Sharon and Jon.  Jim spent two years in the Army, stationed at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico for most of that time.  He worked for Avon Products in Kansas City, Missouri for 30 years, retiring in 1986 when the company closed its Kansas City branch.  He drove from Iconium to Kansas City to work the last 12 years and did not miss a day of work during that time.  After retiring from Avon, he ran a cow/calf operation on his farm at Iconium.  Jim greatly enjoyed spending time on the farm and with his family.

Jim was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Sac Osage Electric Cooperative in El Dorado Springs, Missouri in March 2005 and continued to serve until present.  During his time he served as President and Vice-President.  He also served on the KAMO Board of Directors in Vinita, Oklahoma from 2006 to present.   Jim served on the Iconium Cemetery Board for many years as well.

Jim thoroughly enjoyed serving on these boards and dedicated many hours and days freely.  He was a hard worker at the job and on the farm and was always ready to lend a hand to neighbors and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents Roy and Eleanor Murray and his sister Brenda Shelby.

Jim is survived by his wife, Audrey of 61 years, daughter, Sharon (Kevin), son Jon (Renee), three grandsons, Mat (KaLee), Jacob (Haley), Blake (Brooke), great grandchildren, Ben, Ada and Rhett Wisner, one sister, Barbara (Joe), one brother-in-law, Jerry Shelby.  He also leaves behind nieces, nephews and many friends.
