Ruby Fahy Neuenschwander, 90, of Appleton City, MO passed away peacefully with her family and minister by her side on December 16, 2012. Ruby was born on June 25, 1922 at her home in rural Lowry City, MO. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at an early age at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. After graduating from Lowry City High School in 1939, she attended college in Warrensburg, MO where she met the love of her life, Amos Neuenschwander. They were married on March 16, 1940 and celebrated 62 years together before his passing in 2002. Together they made their home on the family farm near Lowry City where they worked together to earn their living and raise their four children. She loved to cook, sew and do handwork even as she grew older. Ruby and Amos worked together in their quilt making, as he cut the pieces for her to sew together. Ruby was a devoted member of the Valley Center United Church of Christ throughout her life. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Amos, her parents, Seth and Mabel Cogle, her brother, Marvin Cogle and her sister, Katherine Straw. She is survived by her four children, Bob Neuenschwander (Carlie) of Destin Florida, Dee Greenwell (Larry) of Lees Summit MO, Cindy McDaniel (Ted) of Appleton City MO and Sara Reynolds (Jerry) of Lees Summit MO. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Eric Greenwell (Ronda), Jeff Neuenschwander (Joey), Monica Gunther (Nick), Michael McDaniel, Hilarie Carollo (John), seven great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
