Pamela Renee Nickerson was born on September 26, 1963 in Kansas City to Linda Younce, Harlan Younce was her father by choice. She died peacefully at Research Medical Center, with her daughters by her side on December 6, 2024.

Renee as she went by, spent her childhood listening to Donny and Marie records and reading books/magazines in her room. She graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1981, and had a few jobs before she started working for Cigna, where she would go on to work for over 30 years as a Workman’s Compensation Claims Adjuster. She took a lot of pride in her job, and made many friends over the years whom she loved dearly.

Renee met her future husband David Nickerson while out with friends and would share two children with him; Courtney and Caitlyn Nickerson. There is nothing that Renee held closer to her heart than her family. She shared a special bond with her mother, and you would rarely see them apart. She always spoke about the crazy and silly things her brothers would do growing up and loved sharing and creating new memories with them. Renee was very close with both of her daughters and truly loved them more than anything in the world and then her grandchildren came along and her heart just continued to grow. She took so much pride in her grand babies and would talk about them to anyone who would listen.

In her spare time Renee loved going to see live music, especially if it was country music. She also loved going on “girls trips” with her best friends and going to see the ocean most of all. She never lost her love of reading and held a special place in her heart for all of her pets she had throughout her lifetime.

Renee was a one of a kind soul and would light up any room with her beautiful smile. She was always so full of joy, kindness, and selflessness. She was always willing to help her loved ones out in any way she was able to and didn’t carry a mean bone in her body. She had a child-like innocence to her that made her the most joyous person to be around, however she did get the stubborn bone from her mom, and was very proud of that.

She was preceded in death by her mother Linda Younce and her father Harlan Younce. She is survived by her two daughters; Courtney Nickerson (John) and Caitlyn Nickerson (TJ) and her three brothers; Shawn Wickliffe (Maria), Mickey Wickliffe and Kevin Wickliffe (Cheryl). She also had several nieces and nephews that she adored; Andrew, Brent, Daniel, Arianna, Melissa, Caidyn, and Gatlyn. To add to the long list of people who loved and will miss her, she is survived by her grandchildren Mason, Audrey, Scarlett-Jo and Makenzie.

What a lovely obituary, fits Renee to a T! I worked with Renee for many years starting with Cigna and ending with ESIS. Renee was fun to work with, she always had good stories, mostly about her girls and grands who she adored! I will remember Renee for many reasons, her love of Eric Church, Garth Brooks and mostly her ROYALS! She loved her concerts! She will be missed by many! Renee, I know you are loving your reunion with your precious mother! Just wish we wouldn’t have lost you so soon.
    RIP FRIEND! Love Always!

Renee is a love soul. It was a joy to visit her once a week for about the last 6 months. She always had a great smile. I loved singing Amazing Grace with her and reading the Bible with her. She is missed.

What a wonderful tribute. I actually hired Renee at Cigna in the late 80’s as a part-time employee, then later worked with her when we were both adjusters handling WC claims. I know how much she loved her family. I pray that in time your precious memories will outweigh the sadness of her loss.
