Nina Goans flew peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at her home in Lowry City, Missouri.

Nina Christine Grant was born in Los Angeles, California September, 22, 1968, to Mary Elaine Wetzel. They moved to Missouri when she was a child to be closer to family.

She graduated from Lakeland High School in May of 1986. After high school she married Larry Dean Walters. With this marriage she gained a step-son William whom she loved dearly. She and Larry were blessed with two sons, LeVonne and Jacob.

When her marriage ended, Nina focused on her sons and career. She became a medical transcriptionist and soon found she liked working with people better than papers. She went back to school and received her LPN license. Nina worked at various nursing homes and also did some agency work. She worked briefly at Breaktime in Clinton. Nina cared deeply for all her patients.

Nina was a very caring person, always putting the needs of others above her own. She loved deeply. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays and birthdays with her family. She would use any reason available to have her family together. If you ever visited with her, you hung onto her infectious laughter.

On April 23, 2017, she married Stanley Goans at the Church of the Nazerene in Osceola, Missouri. It was to this union that she inherited her step-son Chris. She and Stanley enjoyed riding country roads, auctions and flee markets. They often found and experienced new places to eat. She and Stan were a “good pair!” They took care of each other through numerous health issues.

Nina is survived by her husband Stan of the home, her sons: LeVonne Walters and LeTisha Englehardt and Jacob Walters and Brandi Gilbert, of Lowry City, Missouri, her step-sons William Walters of Weaubleau, Missouri, and Chris (Kelsi) Goans of Nixa, Missouri. Grandchildren: Anastazia, Jaxon, William, Jaycee, Tyson, Brayden, and Asher. Her sisters: Annette Hawkins and Kitty Diggs of Georgia, and one uncle Michael (Megan) Wetzel as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Elaine Cole, grandparents Raymond and Vesta Wetzel, and her aunt Debbie Woodrome. Nina will be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
