Carolyn Joan Rhoads was born May 4, 1939, in Clinton Missouri to James and Edna (Foote) Lysinger. She went to be with the Lord February 7, 2025, in Sedalia, Missouri.
Carolyn went to school in Lowry City, Missouri and graduated in 1957. She attended the University of Central Missouri after graduating high school. Carolyn was a long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
She married Leon Mack Rhoads on November 15, 1959. Together they raised two sons, Marty and Jeff Rhoads. Carolyn spent most of her life working hard for her family, she worked for Central Bank formerly known as Third National Bank from 1974- 2009, she was very proud of her role as the Vice President Human Resource Manager. Carolyn loved spending time with her family and beloved dog Buzz. She enjoyed traveling, boating, camping, and fishing on the lake any chance she got. Her hobbies while home included gardening, reading, raising cows and riding horses. Carolyn also enjoyed going out with family, friends and bowling on a bowling team for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon Mack Rhoads, and companion Dwight Miller.
Carolyn is survived by her sons: Marty (Cindy) Rhoads, Jeff (Laura) Rhoads, 5 grandchildren: Brent (Tawny) Rhoads, Caitlin Rhoads (Clayton) Clemons, Krista Rhoads, Caleb Rhoads, and Kimi Rhoads (Colby) Snapp, as well as 7 great grandchildren, sister Kay Burke and a brother John (Pat) Lysinger, as well as niece’s nephews, cousins and many friends. She will be greatly missed and loved.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral home.
