Appleton Jr, Olen C March 27, 1966 - September 11, 2023

Date of Funeral

September 16, 2023

Olen Cameron Appleton Jr., or just “Cameron” if you knew him, was born on March 27, 1966, to Olen Sr. and Nancy Appleton in Kansas City, Kansas.

He passed away on the 11th of September 2023 at the young age of 57.  He put up one heck of a fight against cancer with the Lord Jesus’ help and his own tremendous courage and determination surviving two full years longer than the doctors anticipated.

His loss is hard on the family but is great for him.  He trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior through this battle and showed everyone around him what courage and strength looks like.  His faith means that he’ll be seated in heaven waiting for his family that trusts in Jesus too, to get there.

Cameron was a man that put his all into the things he loved.  He loved his family and expected a lot of them all.  He loved his jobs which mainly consisted of turning ordinary things into pieces of art with his polishing skills.  He tried to do the same thing with his children, grandchildren, and his own life.  He always pushed to make sure that everyone knew what he believed and what he had been through and wanted those around him to turn into their own amazing, polished piece of art.

The life he lived was lived to the fullest.  His life provided him many things to be proud of.  Starting with his relationship with Tammy Appleton, he built a life with her that produced children and grandchildren that were his world.  Tammy and Cameron met in Inner-City Kansas City in 1982 and from there married in 1984.  He had so much pride, joy, and love in his life from the lives that came from their marriage.  He had three kids; April, Olen III, and Megan that he always told that he was guiding in life to turn out better than he himself did. That love was tough, but those intentions were true.  Those three children provided him his precious grandchildren that he could not get enough of.  Those grandchildren in order were Sierra, Emaleigh, Gary, Olen, Hunter, Glen, Kyree, Mecyah, Logan, Lily, Elijah, and most recently Everett born on his grandpa Cameron’s birthday. He also loved many others just as if they were his grandchildren and one that sticks out the most is his work helper and little buddy Wyatt.

The finer things in life that made Cameron who he was had to be his hobbies.  His hobbies were something else that he took extreme pride in.  His passion for having a car to work on included his 88 Buick Regal and most recently his Tahoe.  His next favorite hobby was to make sure he had the best yard in town.  There’s no doubt that his mansion in heaven will have the loudest car in the garage, and the best yard in town knowing Cameron. He always wanted the things he could influence and touch to be the best and that was shown in everything he put his hands on.

Cameron is preceded in death by his Mom Nancy and Dad Olen Sr.
