Donald Eugene Philpott was born on December 3, 1938 to George and Jewell (Gott) Philpott.  He passed away at his home May 23, 2021.

 

He was a graduate of Southeast High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Shortly after he served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1960. Donald married his high school sweetheart on May 20, 1959 while stationed in Hawaii.

 

He retired from Digital Equipment Corporation (now merged with Hewlett- Packard) as a vice president after 25 years of dedicated service. Upon retirement, Don returned to his beloved home state of Missouri. He has been a member of the Iconium Volunteer Fire Department for 23 years serving as the secretary and treasurer. Don was an avid billiards player and enjoyed competing with the Midwest Missouri Amateur Pool Association.

 

Don enjoyed family, friends, and fishing. He was a kind, giving man, always ready to lend a helping hand to others. He will be united at the Wrights Creek Cemetery with his wife Judith and son Charles.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife; Judith (Gasper) Philpott, son; Charles Philpott, Brothers; Jack (Naomi), Ray, and George (Sharon), Sister; Veda Marie.

 

Donald is survived by his son; Robert (Mary Ann) Philpott of Pine City, NY. A daughter; Donna Green of Columbia, MO, a brother; Dale (Dalire), and a sister-in-law; Kathy Philpott of Independence, MO. He was a proud grandfather of Michael, Bryan, Colleen, Andrew, Amanda, Nazareth, Lizabeth, Thomas, Charles, as well as 6 great-grandchildren, many beloved nephews and nieces and many friends.
