William Thomas Raymond, 91, son of Ila Belle Hudson and Homer Loyd Raymond was born near Quincy, Missouri May 7, 1925. He passed away at his home near Gerster, Missouri on the evening of November 19, 2016.
He married the love of his life Norma Jean Floyd on August 25, 1949 and to this union six sons were born, Kenneth Dale, Dennis Gale, Leroy, William Cleon, Russel Eugene and Terry Wayne. His family moved from the Pittsburg area to a farm outside of Gerster in 1958, where he made a living farming.
W.T. served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma Jean; infant son, Terry Wayne; grandsons Brian Raymond and Tyler Raymond; granddaughters Amanda Raymond and Deidre Raymond; great-great grandson Denver Mincks and sister and brother-in-law Gene and Mary Mulkey, brother-in-law’s Hubert Floyd and Charles Floyd and sister-in-law, Evelyn Dorman
W.T. is survived by long time companion of the home, Cathy Sherman; sons, Dale (Wanda) Raymond of Osceola, Dennis (Sharon) Raymond of Osceola, Leroy (Vicky) Raymond of Osceola, Billy (Kim) Raymond of Quincy and Rusty Raymond of Osceola; grandson Robert (Dana) Raymond of Osceola, Jason (Bobbie) Raymond of Deepwater, Kenny (Kayla) Raymond of Ozark, and Dusty (Heather) Raymond of Osceola; granddaughter, Shelly (Brian) Richards of Collins, Felecia (Jon) Moncayo of Louisburg, Kansas, Tracy (Heath) Daulton of Osceola, Christy (Mickey) Nitsche of Lee’s Summit and Kaitlyn Raymond of Osceola; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Roy (Nancy) Raymond of El Dorado Springs, and Leon (Peggy) Raymond of Osceola; 1 sister Margaret Strahan of Weaubleau; many other relatives and friends.
