Jack Sheldon Murray Redinger was born on March 10, 1937, Congress Hill in Osceola Missouri at the home of his Grandma Sheldon, to Harriet Sheldon Murray and Buel Murray.  He passed away on February 18, 2025, in Springfield Missouri at the age of 87.

Jack was raised by his beloved Grandmother, Mother and adopted father Archie Redinger.  The family lived on farms in Tebo and Osceola, Missouri.  Jack was the big brother to his sisters Betty, Peggy and Mary.  Jack accepted Jesus Christ as his savior as a young teenager at Tebo Baptist Church. On a cold winter’s day, Jack was baptized with his Grandpa Hawthorn in Tebo Creek.

Jack graduated from Osceola High School in 1955. He was united in marriage to Barbara Leaman on April 5, 1958.  Together, they raised their daughters Becky and Gwen.  Barbara preceded him in death, 1987.

As a young man, Jack worked on the farm and in a bank.  He established his career as a pipe fitter at Bendix/Honeywell.  He remained active as a pipe fitter, Local Union 533, until his retirement.  His ability to build or fix anything will be missed.

May 10, 2000, Jack married Judy M. Redinger.  He gained two adult children, Julie and Steve. Together they traveled, mowed, gardened, farmed, raised chickens and entertained family and friends.  Jack loved to play and watch golf.  He was also known to binge watch western shows and movies on TV.  He loved dogs. If you were his pet, you would have the best life a dog could imagine.  Jack had great pleasure in car shopping and trading.  He and Judy shared many happy miles on vacation, visiting family and friends, running errands or just enjoying going for a drive.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Harriet Sheldon Redinger; fathers Archie Redinger and Buel Murray; wife Barbara Leaman Redinger; sister Peggy Fennell and siblings from his Murray family.

Jack is survived by his wife Judy M. Redinger of the home. Daughters Becky (Randy) Nevels of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Gwen (Robert) Spence of Amarillo, Texas; Julie Stone (Steve) of Fallbrook, California; Steve (Judith) Culbertson, Collins, Missouri. Grandkids Stephen, Ryan, Amanda, Kasie, Jared, Matt, Dan, Josh, Jake, Austin and Luke; 15 great grandkids; Sisters Betty Garrison, Mary (Norman) Cooper and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Jack will be greatly missed and loved by many.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Kidney Foundation in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.

Judy and Family, Jo & I were so saddened when we saw that Jack had passed away, Jack was a wonderful man, helped anyone who needed it, even with the heating at Riverview Bible Church. We are having a hard time getting out or we would be there for you. We sure miss the good times, before we got older. Love to you.

He will be missed, I worked with Jack during the 80’s and always was a pleasure to be around him, a quality guy and pipefitter.
