Donald Dean Rima, 73, of Humansville, Missouri, passed away April 30,2023, at the Veteran’s home in Mount Vernon, Missouri, after an extended battle with cancer.
Donnie, as he was known, was born June 9, 1949, to Nelson Rima and Dorothy (Potter) Rima in Cedar County, Missouri. He attended Humansville schools.
He was inducted into the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam. Afterward he served in the Army Reserve for 35 years.
He was united in marriage to Bobbie in 1971. To this union two sons were born: Donald Kraig, and Robert Joseph. They later divorced.
He worked for J. G. Campbell as a mechanic and drove a school bus for several years before going to work as a civilian mechanic at the Army Reserve Center in Springfield, MO where he retired in 2005.
He enjoyed mechanical work, lawn care and gardening. There was a compassionate side to him that most people never knew. He was a faithful contributor to several benevolent organizations, especially those related to veteran affairs.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Kraig Rima, and brother Gerry Rima.
Don is survived by his son Robby Rima and Kristi, his siblings: Judy Creasy, Randall Rima, Nella and Dennis Keller, Ellen and Allen Lane, Teresa Rima, David and Lori Rima, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
