Rodabaugh, Lynn E. August 23, 1939 - July 30, 2015

Lynn Edward Rodabaugh was born August 23, 1939, in Osceola, MO, the oldest son of Edward and Florence Haste Rodabaugh.  He died July 30, 2015 at the age of 75 at Ellett Memorial Hospital, Appleton City MO.  Lynn was raised on the banks of the Sac River near Osceola until his family moved to the Ohio Store area, rural Lowry City at the age of 8 where he graduated from Appleton City High School in 1958. The family farm near the Ohio Store was his home until his recent stay at Truman Lake Manor.  In his youth, Lynn was baptized at the Ohio Christian Church where his membership stayed until his death. On December 23, 1960, Lynn was united in marriage to Kennie “Kay” Rohrer, living first cattycorner from the Ohio Store on the Wishard Farm until they moved to the family farm in 1970.  To this union two children were born, Terry Lynn and Pamela Kay.

Lynn’s greatest dream was spending his life farming, raising cattle, hogs when necessary, corn, soybeans, wheat and milo.  Until his death he always wanted to know what his son and grandsons were doing on Rodabaugh Farms and of course give his thoughts on what should be done.  He so enjoyed knowing that his son and grandsons were carrying on his life’s work.  Lynn’s other greatest pride was opening Rodabaugh Farm Supply in the mid-70’s where he considered it a privilege to be a part of the Vermeer Baler family along with selling Vicon mowers, rakes and other short line farm equipment.  He so enjoyed being behind the counter giving information, selling the next new Vermeer Baler, directing the work in the shop, and gossiping with the fellow farmers of the community until his health forced him to retire in 1995. And no day could be complete without a trip or two to the local coffee shop to talk about the weather and the crops.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Kay, brothers Douglas Eugene and Ralph Rodabaugh,  sister Marie Barnes, in-laws John and Orvella Wood, Kenny and Lora Mae Rohrer, brother- in-law Dennis Rohrer, and sister-in-law Karen Rodabaugh. He is survived by his son Terry (Paula) Rodabaugh, daughter Pam (Greg) Bartz, grandchildren Jessica (Christopher) Perry, Caleb Rodabaugh, Micah Bartz and Ben Rodabaugh, brothers Tom (Sue) Rodabaugh, Dennis Rodabaugh, sister Lorine Harvath, sister-in-law Mabel Rodabaugh, brothers-in-law Steven (Peggy) Wood, Robin (Patty) Wood, and David (Alicia) Rohrer.
