Jean R. (Pressly) Roseman was born on December 5, 1941 in Independence, MO to John Robert Pressly Sr. and Ruth A. (Chadwick) Pressly. She passed away on April 10, 2012. She graduated from Raytown High School in 1959 and then went to Kansas City Business School. She then married a classmate, Charles Robert Fox on December 4, 1960. To that union three children were born, Kevin Robert Fox of The Woodlands, TX; Kimberly Sue (Fox) Vantellman of Schell City, MO; Kelly Jean (Fox) Swearengin of Rogersville, MO.
Jean was a homemaker, mother, and avid gardener. She worked at Western Electric in Merriam, KS before moving to El Dorado Springs, MO. in March 1964. After that she was co-owner of the Charles Fox Egg Co. for several years and then worked eleven and half years at the First Baptist Church, two years at Hacker’s Jewelry, and five years at Hanger Door Co. Inc., and then retired. On April 6, 1991, Jean married Ernest John Roseman. She passed away in her home after a long battle with cancer.
Jean was a member of First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs, MO since 1964 and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for at least 25 years. She did lots of Community projects over the years. She was a member of the Tri Lakes Eagles Auxiliary #4279, worked with Girl Scouts as a leader, taught sewing in 4H, Girls in Action Leader, and volunteered at the ARC of Hope abused women’s shelter. Jean was member of Iris Belles Garden Club and Twilight Gardeners Garden Club, Master Gardener since 1980, served as President for 2 years of the Federated Garden Club of Missouri. The center of her life was her children, grandchildren, and all of her many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert and Ruth A. Pressly; one sister, Nancy Lee Pressly. Jean is survived by her husband, Ernest John Roseman; one son, Kevin Robert Fox and his wife Peggy, of the Woodlands, TX; daughters, Kimberly Sue Vantellman and her husband Dennis of Schell City, MO., Kelly Jean Swearengin and her husband Timothy of Rogersville, MO.; three step-daughters, Becky Roseman and David Derks, of Sacramento, CA, Charlotte Garrett and Lewis, of Greenwood, MO, and Susan Kleiboeker and Steve of Lee’s Summit, MO; one sister, Joan Beverly Wilson and RD of Mesa, AZ; one twin brother, John Robert Pressly Jr., and Ginny of Raymore, MO; eighteen grandchildren, Jill Jones and husband Barend, Marissa Vantellman, Krystle Vantellman, Jayce Vantellman, Austin Fox, Abbey Fox, Isaac Swearengin, Caleb Swearengin, Corinne Swearengin, Griffin Swearengin, Tara McBride, Darby McBride and wife Patricia, Chaz McBride, Jonathan Garrett, Michael Garrett, Hanna Kleiboeker, Andrew and Brian Kleiboeker; one great-granddaughter, Izzy McBride and two great grandsons, Brendan Jones and Myles McBride.
