Johnnie Ray Stevens was born on July 28, 1938 in Gulf Hammock, Florida to William and Myrtle (Etheredge) Stevens. He passed away on February 26, 2017 at Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Johnnie spent his early years in and around Pensacola where he worked as a meat cutter. He served his country from 1957-1970 as an air traffic controller in Alaska and the Philippines. He graduated from the University of West Florida on August 29, 1978 with a degree in management. In 2001 he moved to Lowry City, Missouri where he lived until his death, spending the last two years with special friends John and Catherine Wagner.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, as well as one sister Carol.
Johnnie is survived by sons Ricky and wife Dale, Forest and wife Angie, daughters Deborah and husband Matt, Deborah, Rene and Allison; brother Pete; sisters Faye and Carol; special cousin Barbara (sis), special friends John and Catherine; his best beloved dog Carla as well as many other relatives and friends.
