Nedrick Charles Stewart, 66, of Collins, MO, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 14 in Springfield, MO. He was born in Kansas City, MO on July 2, 1951 and lived in Lee’s Summit, MO before retiring in Collins.
Ned is survived by his wife and best friend of 45 years, Joy (Cook) Stewart; three children, Amanda (Brian) Curtis, Mathew Stewart, and Nathan (Katie) Stewart; nine grandchildren, Brittany (Blake), Jeffrey, Alexander, Grace, Connor, Eli, Josephine, Jace, and Madelyn; and one great-grandson Xavier. He was the son of the late Charles and Esther Stewart, and brother to six siblings; Zeneta Stewart, Susan Pollard, Loa Tober, Jennifer Young, Rebecca Dahl, and Jeffrey Stewart.
Ned was a kind, patient, and fun husband, father, grandpa, papa, brother, and uncle. He loved his family, his dogs, trains, cars, motorcycles, and the outdoors. He was a friend to everyone he met and gave the gift of sight and life through tissue donation.
A celebration of Ned’s life will be held at a later date.
