Elizabeth “Betty” Mary Stonebraker, 91, in Nevada, MO, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2021, in her home following a brief illness. Betty was born on May 7, 1929 in Peruque, Missouri to Lewis Edward and Laura Magdalen (Conoyer)  Sherman.

She married Edward Taylor Stonebraker on September 19, 1950 in St. Peters, Missouri and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2012.

As a young girl Betty attended Baldwin school in Peruque, MO and All Saints School in St. Peters, MO. She later attended high school at St. Peters in St. Charles, MO and continuing her education at Gradwohl school of Laboratory Technique, St. Louis, MO. Later in life after raising her nine children, she graduated from LPN school in Nevada, MO.

Betty loved sewing, quilting, cooking, canning and being with her family. She was mostly noted for all of her fine quilts! She loved it when her friends would stop by and she would do a little mending for them. Betty loved her nursing career and she proved herself by caring for people all her life.

Betty was a member of P.C.C.W, at St. Elizabeth’s in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. She was also a member of the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Church in Nevada, Mo.

She had nine children, 20 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson and she loved them all! She is survived by seven children, three sons and a daughter that lived locally and one daughter in Brookfield, Missouri, one son in College Station, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, sons Jerome and Peter, and grandsons Matthew and Sherman.
