Stump, Michael August 11, 1947 - August 14, 2019

Michael “Mike” David Stump, 73, Collins, Mo., died Wednesday, August 14, 2009, at his residence, following an illness of several months. He was born August 11, 1947, in Overland Park, Kan., to Pressley Jacob Stump and Ada Grace Shatto Stump.

He was raised in the Warsaw and Wheatland area. He lived in Liberty, Mo, Kansas City, Missouri and Deepwater, Mo. before residing in Collins. He served his country by being a member of the US Coast Guard from 1966 -1970. Mike spent most of his career working for Missouri Gas and Energy before retiring after 30 years in 2006.

Mike loved spending his time surrounded by nature. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and drinking cold beer with friends. His down time also included reading books about true crime or watching tv shows based on American true crime stories or for laughs watching the tv show, “the big bang theory”.

Mike is survived by his wife Jean of the home, one sister, Sylvia Jane Higginbotham, Collins, Mo. and his daughter, Summer as well as 3 other kids, 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildfren.

Per Mike’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.

    Mike also had a brother, Jacob Stump formally of Cameron Mo, and a sister, Nanette Neeley of Walker Mo who preceeded him in death. Mike also has three nephews who survived.
    Mike was a very good person who had a good heart. My condolences to his family and those that loved him. I am sure he is with the Lord.
