Robert Eugene Tucker, born in Independence, Missouri on December 17, 1942, was the first born son of Keith Douglas Tucker and Margaret Elaine Bullard Tucker. He grew up in rural Pleasant Hill, Missouri, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1961.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his parents and his older twin brothers, Keith & Kenneth Tucker. A favorite vacation spot was Battle Lake, Minnesota where he helped his father build the cabin that the Tucker family still enjoys today. Bob showed signs as a teenager for a strong mechanical aptitude.
In 1963 he married Ruth Ann Collins, and to this union was born Ronald Dwayne Tucker and Randall Lynn Tucker. In 1970, Bob married Ida Ruth Greathouse Tucker and another son, Bryan Keith Tucker, was added to the family. With this union Bob also gained two children – James Eldon McCombs and Donna Ruth McCombs.
Bob’s first employment after high school was with Western Electric. After moving to Texas, Bob became a highly regarded service mechanic, working for various air compressor companies. Bob received the highest scores in every school he attended in reference to his profession. His expertise in this field made him highly sought after and respected by employers as well as fellow employees. He traveled extensively across the United States from coast to coast. Because of his vast knowledge, he was chosen for in-depth training at the home office in The Netherlands so that he could train fellow colleagues. Bob passed his Christian beliefs on to his children and anyone who came in contact with him. He was willing to help anyone he felt needed a handout to the point that he even brought strangers into his home and advanced money, bus fare, food or any other assistance he felt would benefit the individual. His love of Gaither Christian videos, his Bible and spiritual studies were evident in his everyday life.
